The dark side of Denmark

Ελπιζω ο Αντμιν να κανει μια μικρη εξαιρεση και ευγενικα να επιτρεψει τη δημοσιευση του παρακατω αρθρου, που βρικα σερφαροντας στα διαφορα μπλονκσ. Μιλαει για τη χωρα που μενω και μου φενεται αρκετα ρεαλιστικο. Το παραθετω.

This comes with the remark that denmark IS the best country in the world to live at. Pointing out the obvious advantages of both Denmark or the Danish people is…obvious. So here is the dark side of Denmark…..

Danish are fucking flag-wavers. Fact. Yeap, everyone is so proud to have the Danish flag hanging around. In sandwiches, in their balconies, everywhere. Isn’t that supposed to be fascist, or idiotic, or both? No problem over here. And probably it has to do that they have a queen, and that is.. well that is beyond unacceptable. Having someone being superior than you is disturbing, in so many different human ways, not the place to talk about that though. The English have it fine. But they are morons, poorer, used to be a huge empire., But progressive Scandinavians?! I am not talking about some old farts. I am talking about smart looking people, young people, everyone. The monarchy has an acceptance of 99, 99% or so. Where are the leftists? Where is the protest? Where are the movements? The questions? Where is the youth culture, the young rebels? Imagine living in a country that everybody is happy with their country, everyone thinks that lives in the best country. Self consiousnes, stupidity, some fancier word maybe? Happy with their queen, happy with the status quo. (I wont even start with the Danske Folkeparti ….13%. It not the issue here) But..Isn’t it normal to nag and cry and shout about your country? … It’s a bit disturbing. I have met so many people that have told me how exaltant the country is, how good the social services etc. True or not, this is not really the issue. What bugs me equally is that when I walk the streets I get confused. I see young punks, I see skate kids, I see music trends of all kinds, I see graffiti, I see smart looking people. How does that all add together if you are a fucking subject? You love your fascist 1000 year old monarchy and then you go wear rugged clothes, old all-stars and play streetwise cool? Be proud about your freedom of speech and your cartoons and go Sunday morning, in your che-guevara shirt and your Danish design flip flops to see the queen wave the crowd? Something is wrong, something doesn’t add up to what you see and what it is. Pretentious, fake, substantial comes to mind. Everybody talks about balanced Copenhagen. Sure, it has a balanced population of swans and birdlife, but other than that, it really depends what you consider balance and what not.. Happy Copenhagen they call it. Happy in these days? This has to be wrong..

It is a trap of course. Easy to fall into. You just get dull and conservative when you have everything. Some might say no real problems, no real life.

I leave in these new built blocks by the sea. Fantastic. The only people leaving there are strictly 25-35 year old couples with kids; it like it’s a fucking yappy commune, like living in an ikea brochure. Trendy is the word that come to mind, of course they are famous for that, but this is way too much. It is so much that there is no differentiation any more. No poor and rich, no music fans and …er not music fans, no stylish and not stylish. Everybody looks so… well put, so intentionally sloppy, so smart, so music. Yet I bet that their bang & olufsen player only plays top hits radio.. Dull really. But they seem happy about it. You can see it in their eyes. Everybody looks so sure, so confident; you know the look I am talking about? Yes. Denmark is all about 30 something, empty but smart looking, confidence gaze individuals. Of course they are confident. The queen wants them that way, the government provides. So obnoxious… Oh and they loooove small talking (unlike for example..er…the Finnish), and they do it loud, and they do it confidently. No one ever asked me where I was from. Polite maybe. Probably dont give a fuck though…
